On campus living is currently optional, but quarantine seems to have made this year’s freshman class less ready for off campus living. We want to make sure that they have a support system in place, which they will have in the dorms.
A number of preprofessional opportunities exist at the University of Missouri-St. Louis for students interested in engineering, dentistry, law, medicine, optometry, or pharmacy. For most of these areas, students may seek advising assistance in the Office of Undergraduate Student Affairs in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Pre-Law Advising: Pre-law students at UMSL come from a variety of majors, including Art History, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, and many more. Many of these majors offer pre-law tracks or minors, and you can identify yourself as a pre-law student at any time during your career at UMSL. The Pre-Law Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA) advises that a wide range of undergraduate majors can serve as a path to law school.
Pre-Health Advising: The University of Missouri – St. Louis does not offer a degree in Pre-Health Studies. Students wishing to enter professional healthcare schools should pursue B.A. or B.S. degrees in the major(s) of their choice, while taking the courses necessary for admission to a professional healthcare school. Any of UMSL's 50+ undergraduate degrees can be considered on the pre-health track with a little planning.
Students interested in Engineering should contact the office for the UM-St. Louis/Washington University Joint Undergraduate Engineering Program.
Students interested in Optometry should contact the office for Student Services - Optometry
