Coordinated program

The Coordinated Program (CP) is designed for individuals who wish to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition degree, "job ready", and eligible to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians. The program provides experience in the three broad areas of dietetic practice (food service system management, clinical, and community) and is designed to prepare entry-level dietitians for careers in a variety of health care and food service facilities. It requires a minimum of 1,200 full time practice hours, day-time study which includes the necessary supervised practice hours. CP is a limited access program. Only 16-18 students are accepted each year and students should be done with all required didactic courses by spring semester after the October 20th application date. The Coordinated Program begins in the summer semester and CP students graduate at the end of the fall semester.

Didactic Program

Completion of Didactic Program (DPD) enables students to receive a Didactic Program Verification Statement and apply to accredited Dietetic Internships to be eligible to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians.

Nutrition Science

The nutrition science track emphasizes the study of the basic sciences, biology and chemistry, and uses this foundation to build the nutrition science core curriculum. Students explore food, human physiology, metabolism and understand the complex relationship between nutrients/non-nutrients in foods, optimal health and disease.
