The criminal justice system is directly impacted by the policies and practices of government. In order to succeed at careers related to fighting crime at the public policy level, you’ll need expert knowledge in both criminal justice and government structures. The dual B.S./M.A. program in Criminal Justice and Government and Politics will provide you with this knowledge and allow you to complete both degrees in just five years of full-time study.
While still working toward your undergraduate Criminal Justice degree, you’ll enroll in four approved graduate courses in Government and Politics. These courses will still apply to your bachelor’s degree if for any reason you do not wish to continue at the master’s level after four years.
Career Outcomes
In the dual B.S./M.A. program in Criminal Justice and Government and Politics, you’ll learn the political processes and governmental structures that affect how crime is prosecuted and prevented. You’ll also learn how the criminal justice system functions to punish offenders and understand the complex nature of crime and crime networks. Your sophisticated understanding of these related systems will make you a desirable candidate for careers related to public policy, law enforcement, public administration, international and organized crime, and social justice.
