This program offers a student the opportunity to pursue advanced studies in various areas of computer science. The program is designed for students with bachelor’s degrees in computer science and provides a solid preparation for those who may pursue a doctorate. Master’s students are encouraged to concentrate their studies in research areas of interest to faculty in the department.

A master’s degree in computer science provides students with the technical expertise they need to enter top careers such as information technology, database administration, systems engineering, software development, software architecture, and IT systems analysis. Graduates develop algorithmic thinking and the ability to design, develop, and test software and information systems in order to create new methods of human–computer interaction, design intelligent systems, or program high-powered software applications.

Students looking to enroll in a master's degree program at Florida Tech must hold a bachelor's degree (four-year degree) in a related field from a recognized, regionally accredited college or university (or the international equivalent).
Applicants must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 as an undergraduate in order to be considered for admission to a Florida Tech master's degree program.
English language proficiency:
Students whose home language is not English are considered to have demonstrated English language proficiency if they have accomplished any of the following: an Internet-based TOEFL (standard, home and paper) with an earned score of at least 79; or an IELTS with an earned score of at least 6.0; or a PTE Academic with an earned score of at least 58; or a Cambridge English: Advanced with an earned score of at least 180 (Grade of C); or a Duolingo English Test with an earned score of at least 100; ELS English for Academic Purposes level 112.
