¿Qué aprenderé?

Prepare for a major in Biological Sciences by taking recommended courses to fulfill the requirements of a natural science transfer degree.

Designed to meet the first two years of requirements for most science bachelor’s degrees, including core science sequences in math, chemistry, biology, and/or physics, the Associate of Science – Transfer, Track 1 (AS-T1) in Shoreline’s Natural Sciences Transfer program offers small class sizes in a supportive environment to prepare you for successful transfer to university.

What You'll Learn

Demonstrate the use of scientific observation and experimentation to explain aspects of the natural world.

Apply fundamental concepts of a scientific discipline to make reasonable predictions about the natural world.

In addition to the outcomes above, students will gain the skills and knowledge included in Shoreline Student Learning Outcomes (SSLOs): Communication, Critical Thinking, Equity & Social Justice, Information Literacy, and Quantitative & Symbolic Reasoning.

Careers & Opportunities

Graduates in Biological Sciences develop strong critical thinking, problem solving and technical skills for entry-level positions as laboratory assistants, research assistants and technicians in various work environments. Advanced degrees and licensures are often required for professional advancement in Biological Sciences. Potential employers include: zoos and aquariums, wildlife preserves, state and federal government agencies such as the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, environmental protection agencies and public health departments; nonprofit medical and environmental organizations, biotechnology companies, scientific instrument companies, hospitals, public and private schools, colleges and universities.
