Do you have a strong desire to help others and improve their lives? You might be interested in a career in psychiatric rehabilitation, which is a specialty area within psychology. The goal of psychiatric rehabilitation is to help disabled individuals to develop the emotional, social and intellectual skills needed to live, learn and work in the community with the least amount of professional support.

You will provide a range of psychological support and work with a variety of clients with mental illnesses and other disabilities. Psychiatric rehabilitation practitioners typically work on teams with other mental health professionals and have job titles such as rehabilitation specialist, case manager, supported employment specialist or recovery coach. Graduates are also prepared to go on to graduate studies in counseling or social work.

Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Psychology awarded jointly with Rutgers University School of Health Related Professions (Rutgers-SHRP).

Features of the Joint Program

Advisors are available one-on-one and can help you navigate application time lines, requirements and program prerequisites.

• Spend five semesters (75 credits) at Felician University and three semesters (45 credits) of professional studies at Rutgers–SHRP for a total of 120 credits.
• Complete all required courses with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a 3.0 GPA in your psychology major requirement courses.
