The SRU Secondary Education/Foundations of Education Department has a reputation among administrators and cooperating teachers for producing teacher candidates who are well-prepared in both their subject matter and in their practical classroom skills.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

As you work through the program, you will master classroom skills as well as Spanish language and culture. Courses like Human Development and Education and Methods of Instruction in secondary content areas will give you the expertise to be confident in designing and carrying out lessons, and you will gain mastery in Spanish language, culture, and literature. Through student teaching opportunities, you will attain confidence and real-world experience in a diversity of settings.

With your comprehensive course of study, you'll be ready for the challenges of the secondary classroom, in Pennsylvania or elsewhere. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
