The Bachelor of Science in Education degree has been a part of NAU’s heritage from its earliest years. Those who earn this degree will be ready to launch a career in this essential part of community and country—the education of young people, the breath of the future.
This program is nationally recognized by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education.
Physical education in K-12 schools is heralded as a critical component of public health and physical activity promotion. The focus of this program is to prepare graduates to have immediate success teaching physical education to K-12 youth as well as to promote physical activity among youth and school communities. Graduates will be eligible for an Arizona secondary credential in physical education with a K-12 endorsement in physical education.
The program is part of Northern Arizona University's NCATE accredited Professional Education Unit. This physical education program is the only Arizona physical education teacher education program that is recognized by the National Association of Sport and Physical Education (NASPE).
