Program Description
As a student of theatre and interpretation at CMU, you’ll explore performance, design and technical opportunities inside and outside the classroom. You’ll have access to scene and costume shops, as well as rehearsal rooms. Dedicated faculty members go the extra mile to help you develop your talents. You’ll expand your experience by taking part in University Theatre, Studio Theatre Series and CMU Summer Theatre.
If you've dreamed of a future in theatre and dance, then why not follow your passion to CMU? Our Theatre and Dance degrees bring together a strong curriculum, experienced faculty from diverse backgrounds, great facilities, and numerous opportunities to participate in productions starting in your freshman year. Theatre-related degree programs are available in Design/Technical Theatre, Acting/Directing, and Music Theatre, and a minor is available in Dance.
Theatre Careers
CMU Theatre graduates typically follow one of three paths upon earning their degree: seek professional employment, pursue a graduate degree, or take part in apprenticeships or other specialized training to bolster their resume in a specific area. While a competitive field, statistics show anticipated growth in many theatre-related job markets in coming years, and many wonderful career opportunities exist for graduates to follow their dreams.
