This combined B.S/M.S. degree program is designed to provide qualified students the opportunity to complete two degree programs in under five years. Upon successful completion of the program, a student will earn a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics and an M.S. in Business Analytics.

Curriculum

Students must complete all requirements for the B.S. Business Administration with a Business Analytics Concentration as well as the requirements for the M.S. in Business Analytics. M.S. Business Analytics is an Online Accelerated Program

B.S. Business Administration, Business Analytics Concentration Requirements:

BAN 300 - Introduction to Business Analytics
BAN 302 - Predictive Analysis
BAN 303 - Prescriptive Analysis
MIS 315 - Management of Database Systems (Replaced by MIS 504 Database for Analytics.)
Three elective courses (from approved list, with one elective replaced by MIS 503 Programming for Analytics).

M.S. Business Analytics Requirements

BAN 500 – Descriptive Analytics
BAN 501 – Prescriptive Analytics
BAN 502 – Predictive Analytics
MIS 503 – Programming for Analytics (Replaces one undergraduate BAN elective)
MIS 504 – Database for Analytics (Replaces MIS 315)
MIS 505 – Data Visualization
BAN 525 – Case Studies in Business Analytics
BAN 530 – Applications of Business Analytics

Students should challenge themselves with the most rigorous coursework available at their high school, which allow them to maintain academic success. The minimum GPA for the UNC System is a 2.5, though it is highly unlikely that UNCW would consider a GPA in this range.

Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher on a U.S. 4.0 scale to be considered for admission

Transcripts from U.S. high schools or American schools outside the U.S. must be official, listing both courses and grades.

English Proficiency

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): TOEFL Essential - minimum score of 8 on the Internet-based exam; TOEFL iBT - minimum score of 71 on the Internet-based exam.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - minimum score of 6.0 on the academic module. Scores older than two (2) years will not be accepted.

Duolingo English Test (DET) - minimum score of 95

Pearson PTE - minimum score 54

iTEP Academic - minimum score of 3.7 on iTEP Academic Plus
