The Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program, offered by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, is designed to prepare audiology professionals to meet requirements for licensure (and certification, if desired) and is consistent with the standards of the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
The program is specifically designed for individuals who have completed an undergraduate degree program in an accredited college or university and who have met the prerequisite requirements for admission to the Au.D. program. This is a four-year (eleven semester) full-time academic and clinical program.
Audiology is the study of the normal and impaired auditory system. Speech-language pathology focuses on impaired speech, language, fluency, and voice function of children and adults.
