Program Information

If a teaching career interests you, Butler is the place for you to study elementary or secondary education. Butler courses will fulfill the first two years toward a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college. Requirements vary at four-year colleges so work with a Butler advisor to ensure a smooth and complete transfer process.

Requerimiento de entrada

Para estudiantes internacionales

International students must have graduated from the equivalent of a U.S. high school (12 years of education). If English is not an official language of your country or your English grade is below a “C” average, you will need to submit a document to meet our English proficiency requirement. This can be done through one of the following:

  • A minimum TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language score of 500 or above on the written test, 173 on the computer-based test, or 61 on the internet test is required. The TOEFL institutional code for Butler is 6191.
  • Completion of the Advanced II level or higher at Wichita State University’s Intensive English Language Center. Students must have grades of C or better in all classes.
  • Academic credit of 12 hours or more from a U.S college or university or one year from a U.S. high school with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
  • The IELTS International English Language Testing System test is also acceptable as an alternative to TOEFL. An overall score of 5.0 is required for admission.
  • A minimum Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 50.
