¿Qué aprenderé?

Psychology is the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes. You will explore various topics including functions of the brain, child development, aging, sexuality, learning, and abnormal behavior. Career fields include therapy, research, teaching, case work, or counselor’s aide. Butler’s program provides you with the basic course you will need to transfer to a four-year college or university. Graduates with a bachelor’s degree may also find position in sales, marketing, personnel and management. To become a psychologist or therapist, students will need to complete work beyond the bachelor’s degree.

At Butler Community College you can strengthen your knowledge of human behavior. By taking classes in a healthy, nurturing environment, you begin to understand the makings of personality. You study development, learning, emotion and perception and begin to understand why people do what they do.

Whether you want to study at a psychology program at a four-year university, or move into archeology, human resources or social work, an associate degree in psychology will help propel you to an understanding of human nature. Through this program, you will learn logical, critical and analytical thought processes that you can apply to your studies.

Studying psychology at Butler opens a door into a method of learning about others and yourself. Butler teaches you methodic, analytical approaches that guide you to an informed analysis.
