RespiratoryTherapyisadynamicandchallenginghealthcareprofession.Therapistsworkwithphysicians,nursesandotherhealthcareprofessionalsinintensivecareunitsandhospitalfloorcareareas.Theyareinvolvedinthetreatment,management,andrehabilitationofpatientswithlungandheartproblems.RespiratoryTherapistsmanagetheventilationofcriticallyillpatients,aswellasprovidecaretopatientswithacuteandchronicpulmonarydisease.TheRespiratoryTherapyprogramisaccreditedbytheCommissiononAccreditationforRespiratoryCare(CoARC).

Graduateswillhaveacquiredthenecessaryknowledge,'skillsandvaluesforthepracticeofrespiratorytherapy.

CareerOpportunities
Theemploymentoutlookforgraduatesisgood-RespiratoryTherapistscanworkfullorpart-time.Mosttherapistswork8or12-hourhospital'shifts.Graduatesmay'specializeinmanydifferentareas,includingbutnotlimitedto:intensivecare(adult,neonatal,andpediatric),pulmonaryfunctiontestingandhomecare.TherearealsomanyopportunitiesforadvancementwithinthefieldofRespiratoryTherapy.
