¿Qué aprenderé?

The Associate of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology program is a limited access program. It prepares students to become Nuclear Medicine Technologists. Nuclear Medicine Technologists prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients and perform diagnostic procedures on virtually every organ system in the human body by using highly sophisticated computerized detection systems to produce and process images.

Additional Program Information: Clinical Education is performed in medical facilities such as outpatient centers and hospitals and is offered concurrently with the didactic courses. Program applicants who have criminal convictions or concerns must clear the ARRT ethics requirements through a pre-application review of eligibility process. The Pre-application Review of Eligibility process with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is done to avoid potential delays when applying to take the certification exam.

You will earn Technical Certificates related to your program of study as you earn your AA, AS, AAS or Bachelor's degree.

Related Industry Certificate: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam & subsequently apply to the state of Florida for licensure, and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board.

Location(s): General Education courses are offered at all college locations, including online. Program specific courses are only available at the North Campus.

Keeps abreast of the changes in the nuclear medicine field. Provides a high quality education in nuclear medicine, Prepares individuals for employment as entry-level Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Prepares students to meet national certification and state licensure requirements, provides the community with an active member of the healthcare team, Understands the importance of radiation protection practices and HIPAA practices for the student and community.

This program also offers alternative virtual online information session. Coming to a face to face information session is highly recommended.

Students have Minimum GPA of 2.5 in the courses below and Overall GPA of 2.5.

Completion in the following courses BSC 2085, BSC 2085L, BSC 2086, BSC 2086L, CHM 1032, CHM 1032L, PHY 1001, ENC 1101, and MAC 1105 or higher.

English Language Requirements

IELTS: 6.5; TOEFL IBT: 79; Cambridge English Advanced: 176; PTE Academic: 58.
