The Professional Science Masters in Applied Nutrition - Dietetics Emphasis is an ACEND-accredited Future Education Model - Graduate Program. The 12-month program combines online coursework through Arizona Online with supervised experiential learning at community, clinical, and foodservice sites. In order to become an RDN, graduates must complete the required coursework and supervised experiential learning hours (1000 hours).
The School of Nutritional Sciences and Wellness at the University of Arizona offers traditional graduate research programs leading to a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Nutritional Sciences under the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. A minor in Nutritional Sciences is offered to Ph.D. students. The School of Nutritional Sciences and Wellness also offers online graduate programs, including a Graduate Certificate in Applied Nutrition designed to be completed in only 8 months, an Applied Nutrition - Nutrition & Wellness emphasis professional science master (non-thesis) designed to be completed in 18 months as well as an ACEND accredited Future Education Model - Graduate program, Applied Nutrition - Dietetics emphasis Professional Science Master’s program.

Applicants to the PSM in Applied Nutrition - Dietetics Emphasis program must meet the following minimum requirements:
BS or BA from an accredited institution
Required pre-requisite coursework with a grade of C or higher: Anatomy/physiology (1 semester upper division physiology course or two-semester of anatomy/physiology i.e. PSIO 201 & 202); Biochemistry 1 semester (course must require organic chemistry as pre-requisite); Medical Nutrition Therapy/Clinical Nutrition minimum 1 semester (must include Nutrition Care Process and Terminology); Food Science 1 semester; Macronutrient Metabolism 1 semester; Food Service Management 1 semester OR Serv-Safe Manager Certification
Minimum 3.0 GPA overall in undergraduate degree or over the last 60 units of enrollment
