The Faculty of Health and Social Care offers high quality postgraduate research opportunities to students from a range of professional backgrounds. We are a rapidly expanding faculty with more than 115 academic staff, with diverse research interests and methodological expertise in many qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Our growing community of full- and part-time research students benefits from the guidance of a strong team of committed and experienced supervisors and a lively and supportive research setting.
A PhD is the ultimate form of student-centred learning. This programme is for nurses, midwives and related professionals who wish to undertake a complex and original independent research project under the guidance of an experienced academic supervisor. It is aimed at professionals who wish to develop advanced research skills with a view to becoming independent researchers, or those who wish to pursue a career in higher education.
