This is a **four year degree** taught at our Hope Park campus. The **Foundation Year** aims to develop your skills so that after a year, you will be equipped with the necessary skills needed for studying the full BA Hons degree programme.**Media & Communication**If you want an exciting career in the media but also want to understand how and why the media reports and represents the world in the ways it does, studying at Hope is the next step for you. Media and Communication provides you with an opportunity to closely study and analyse the ways in which the media industry shapes and is shaped by our world. Our degrees are designed to help you become an industry leader who is equipped to take on the critical task of ensuring a more reliable, trustworthy media industry, and to work as a cross-platform media practitioner.Our curriculum is taught by lecturers with a reputation for international research and by a practitioner who has made BAFTA and EMMY award winning programmes and animated films. Media and Communication at Liverpool Hope is underpinned by the notion of interrogating power. We believe that the media must always be held to account and has a responsibility to pursue social justice. Whether it be through journalism, digital and social media theory and applied skills, our aim is to produce graduates who will make a better world.**Special Educational Needs**Studying Special Educational Needs at Liverpool Hope University will enable you to understand the relationship between disability and education and will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to educate others about the nature of disability. The degree incorporates insights from education, as well as drawing on work in the arts, humanities and health care, to ensure you gain a broad and balanced understanding of the principal features of education in a wide range of contexts.A central aspect of the course is an understanding of medical and social constructions of Special Educational Needs and Disability, the legal requirements regarding provision for SEN/Disability and a critical understanding of past and contemporary practices. You will gain a knowledge and understanding of the global perspectives on special education and disability, and issues relating to children and families, as well as having the ability to critically engage with professional expertise.Special Educational Needs (SEN) is an interdisciplinary subject underpinned by the work of the Centre for Culture and Disability Studies (CCDS). You will become a professional who is knowledgeable and skilled in this field. You will enter your professional life recognising the importance of compassion and understanding of your work with, and on behalf of, those who are disabled and/or identified as having a special educational need.

Students should have achieved a good High School Graduation Diploma and 550 in each component of SAT I, plus 3 Advanced Placement tests at grade 3 or higher OR 2 - 3 SAT IIs at 550 or higher. Your application will be considered if you have studied one year at a recognised American University and achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above. Students need to have an IELTS score of 6.0 overall (6.0 in Reading and Writing mandatory, and 5.5 minimum in each sub-skill (UG)).
