This course offers you both a master’s degree and a professional qualification. Our course lasts two years and will equip you with the skills and knowledge you'll need for effective professional practice as a social worker. Accreditation

After completing this master’s degree you'll be eligible to register as a social worker with Social Work England.

For a postgraduate taught course such as a Masters, you would normally need a Bachelors degree from a recognised institution. Typically you would need at least the equivalent to a UK upper second class honours degree, however some courses will accept lower second class honours degrees. Actual requirements will vary by course. A score of 3.2 out of 4.0 is considered comparable to a UK 2.1; A score of 2.8 out of 4.0 is considered comparable to a UK 2.2. If you're a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability.

Undergraduate degree: 2:1 or equivalent. Additional requirements: Grade 4 (C) in GCSE English or an equivalent qualification. An offer of a place will also be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and a satisfactory health declaration. Experience working in social care, health care or related voluntary work would be advantageous. English language requirements: IELTS 7.0, with a minimum 7.0 in each component, TOEFL 96 overall, with a minimum of 24 in each component.
