Why choose this course?
As services are pushed into the community to relieve pressure on acute health service provision, artists are becoming more and more valuable to the delivery of social healthcare. This course offers an innovative way of meeting the challenges of finding solutions to a range of public health issues and promoting publicly funded arts organisations.
Teaching & Assessment
Assessment will be conducted through a series of coursework (typically a portfolio), including evaluations of the practical work for each module.
Teaching and Learning
We offer workshops and support sessions in areas such as academic writing, effective note-making and preparing for assignments. Students can book appointments with academic skills tutors dedicated to helping you deal with the practicalities of university work.
Career prospects
Our Careers & Employability service is there to help you make decisions and plan the next steps towards a bright future. From finding work or further study to working out your interests, skills and aspirations, they can provide you with the expert information, advice and guidance you need.
This course will equip students with the employable skills artists need to work in healthcare, and enable them to work in the growing field of arts and health within hospital or community settings.
Employment opportunities can be found within arts, health and the third sector, including community arts projects. Funding opportunities for arts in health will be the focus of one of the modules, and self-employment or studying for a research degree are other options students may wish to pursue. Students will also achieve PgCert and PgDip exit awards during this course.
