In a fast-growing industry, take on the challenge of delivering memorable events. At the end of your second year you can choose to specialise in one of the following four areas tourism, arts and entertainment, experiential marketing, or leisure management and sports events. Your final degree will reflect the specialism in its title, boosting your career prospects in that field.

How you learn

All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive.

The course is suitable if you don't meet the entry requirements for our BSc (Hons) Events Management course, or you want extra preparation before starting degree-level study. You share the first year with other Sheffield Business School foundation year students, then move on to the degree.

You develop your skills through a combination of seminars and workshops, by attending lectures and by completing projects. International and national field trips, site visits and work with external organisations enhance your engagement and understanding of the complexities and challenges of operating in the international events industry.

Future careers

The events industry currently employs 530,000 people, is growing each year, and is expected to be worth £48.8bn by 2020 (BVEP,2015).
