**Course Overview**- Study the greats of English Literature, such as Shakespeare and Dickens, and gain key skills in analysis and communication on this Foundation Entry course.- Our Foundation Entry degree courses are ideal if you’ve got the ability to study for a degree, but don’t have the necessary formal qualifications to directly join an Honours programme. It’s a great stepping stone to a full degree.- Develop and strengthen your love of literary texts and gain skills in analysis, written and oral communication, and cultural and social sensitivity.- You’ll study Shakespeare, Dickens and the Brontë sisters, and you can also take options in American drama and literature, the fairy tale, children’s literature, the Gothic and the Grotesque.- Our course offers a unique combination of subject expertise, knowledge of the intellectual heritage of literature, and learning activities designed to make you more employable.**Why study with us**- Literature in English at the University is 1st in the North West and 2nd in the UK for academic support - National Student Survey (NSS) 2019.- You’ll access our Live Literature Room, where you’ll share your work with peers and attend events and literary readings from industry insiders.- You’ll get the opportunity to explore major literary centres, such as Paris, and the relationship between literature and place.
