And how can you implement an algorithm mimicking natural behaviour? With this specialism you will learn the theory and practice behind artificial intelligence, and gain recognition of this in the title of your final award.You’ll learn to use technology to create new opportunities and to solve a wide range of problems, benefiting every aspect of society from the home to business, government and beyond. Our teaching is informed by our cutting-edge research, and we also reflect what’s happening now in industry. There’s a strong emphasis on programming – but don’t worry if you don’t have A Level Mathematics because the course covers what you need to know. You’ll have access to our computing labs, based on Microsoft Windows and Linux, plus a wide range of software. Our excellent central location is ideal for industrial placements, with over 40 companies situated on the Keele Science Park alone.By following the Artificial Intelligence route through the degree programme, you will have the opportunity to discover modern approaches to Artificial Intelligence which may include computational intelligence and nature-inspired algorithms. This specialism is strongly research focused; you will explore practical application of cutting-edge techniques on real-world problems. The specialism includes study of topics such as artificial neural networks, evolutionary computation, as well as covering adaptive behaviour in natural systems from the perspective of computational neuroscience.

Students need to have 3 SAT Subject Tests (SAT II) (600= A/B; 550=C) OR a combination of SAT Subject Tests/ AP's/ ACT composite score 26 (totalling 3). Students need to have an IELTS 6.0 or equivalent with no subtest score below 5.5.
