¿Qué aprenderé?

This is a dual honours course, which means you'll spend roughly half your time in the partner department, Economics. You'll get a good grounding in both subjects, plus the chance to study specific areas in more detail. The subjects are given equal weighting.

The way we teach the accounting and financial management side is the same, in principle, as the single honours course (Accounting and Financial Management). You take a lot of the same modules as a single honours student.

Because you're studying two subjects, you don't get to look at accounting, financial management or economics in as much detail as you would on the single honours degrees, but the quality of your education is the same.

The two subjects complement each other, which opens up even more career opportunities.

Accounting and financial management
Employers recognise and value the practical work-ready skills that our students develop. Recent graduates are working for Barclays, Deloitte, Grant Thornton, KPMG and Santander.

Many students pursue traditional accounting roles, but an increasing number are working in banking, finance, audit, assurance and consultancy.

Business management
At the Management School, we work with businesses and organisations to ensure the content of our courses is up-to-date and relevant, and that the skills and experience students gain meet the demands of future employers.

Career development support and advice is delivered from our Employability Hub - a dedicated service for Management School students. We're not just here to help you look for a job in your final year of study. We offer a huge array of development opportunities and support from day one to make sure you're making the most of your time at Sheffield, identifying and working on any skills gaps, gaining practical experience and understanding what you want to do when you graduate. Recent graduates are working for Amazon, Barclays, Deloitte, E.ON, the National Audit Office, Unilever and Virgin Media. The flexibility of our courses means a huge range of career options is possible and employers recognise and value the practical work-ready skills that our students develop.
