Our environment consists of a vast variety of molecules. The molecular sciences research their structure and their formation in nature. Chemistry deals with the fascinating world of molecules.

Structure

The Master’s degree programme comprises compulsory lectures in the core subject areas inorganic and physical chemistry, plus a comprehensive range of electives. Practical training in the laboratory, research projects and a four-month Master’s thesis project familiarize students with research work on current subjects.

To complete their training a majority of graduates in this discipline progress to a doctoral programme.

To be eligible for admission to a Master's degree programme at ETH Zurich you need to have a high-quality Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 180 ECTS or an equivalent first academic degree from an internationally recognized university. Other English language requirements: Cambridge Proficiency (CPE) - Required minimum C1 (grade C); required minimum C2 (grade C); Cambridge Advanced (CAE) - Required minimum C1 (grade B); CAE not recognized as level C2.

Para estudiantes internacionales

The students must satisfy the following criteria:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent first degree from an internationally recognised university
The Bachelor's degree is based on at least three years of study (full-time equivalent) or 180 credits ECTS (European credit transfer system), respectively. 1 credit ECTS corresponds to a workload of 25-30 hours.
The Bachelor's degree qualifies the holder to enter, without additional requirements, Master's degree programs at a university within the education system where the Bachelor's degree was acquired.
