The Master of Management is a professional, relevant and contemporary qualification.
It has a unique core of courses that focus on key business skills like communication, leading and working in teams, and current issues in business.
Financial economics concentrates on decision-making under uncertainty. These decisions are applied to a variety of capital markets and asset-pricing. There is a greater emphasis on the role of information for economic co-ordination and organisations. You will build upon your undergraduate studies to gain an international perspective on management.

Now available to complete in a shorter time (one year)
There is the ability in this specialisation (endorsement) to complete your study in just one calendar year instead of 18 months. This is available if you study the Master of Management at the Manawatu campus and complete your final course (Part Two) over Summer School.

Credit summary
180 credits
Part One Schedule A core courses– 30 credits
Part One Schedule B subject courses– 90 credits
Part Two Schedule B professional practice– 60 credits
A specialisation (subject) is compulsory and requires 150 credits. This includes compulsory subject courses and a 60 credit professional practice course.
Advanced entry: Those who have already completed specified qualifications in advance of the minimum entry requirements and have been granted credit for it, may be able to complete this degree in 60 - 120 credits.
There are regulations around completion of Part One before progressing to Part Two.

To enter the Master of Management (Financial Economics) you will:
have been awarded or qualified for a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, having achieved a grade average of at least B- in the highest level courses, or
have been awarded or qualified for a Postgraduate Diploma in Business with a B- grade average, or equivalent.
If you have a Postgraduate Diploma in Business as outlined above, you may apply for credit towards Part One of the qualification, in a single subject. Credit may be awarded in in accordance with the limits specified in the Recognition of Prior Learning regulations. If you are granted credit, the degree will be awarded without a subject.
You will need to provide verified copies of all academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.
Students from a country where English is not the first language, must obtain a minimum English Language competency level.
