Graduates will gain advanced knowledge of a specialized body of theoretical and applied topics, high order skills in analysis, critical evaluation or professional application, and the ability to solve complex problems, think and act rigorously and independently. Teaching activities include topics on recognizing factors that influence the presence and causation of diseases within the community, behaviour, organisation, community health problems, control and preventive measures and activities, as well as other disciplines involved in public health. The teaching approach used is based on the three tiers of disease prevention, namely primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. Thus, all the major fields of public health need to be treated as a holistic and integrated discipline. At the same time, it offers an opportunity for research to be undertaken in depth and for the outcome to be assessed as a contribution not only to academic literature, but also to resolving current public health issues.
