PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE
The objectives of the Master of Science in Materials Engineering are to enhance the in-depth knowledge in materials engineering, to provide hands-on experience with the current technology and equipment and to bridge the gap between materials engineering and challenges from the industry.
DURATION
The full-time program can be completed in a minimum of one year, i.e. two normal long semesters and one short semester. The maximum period for the completion of the full-time program is six normal semesters (nominally 3 years). The maximum duration allowed for part-time students is 8 normal semesters (nominally 4 years).
GRADUATION REQUIREMENT
Students must obtain a minimum grade of B- (60%) for each course and an overall average of B (65%) to graduate. Students are required to complete a minimum of 40 credit hours of which 3 credits are university compulsory subject, 12 credits are the core engineering subjects, 10 credits are the thesis and the remaining 15 credits are the free electives that would make up the area of specialization.

A Bachelor’s Degree with good honors from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia or any other institution of higher learning recognized by the Senate; or
A qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree and experience in the relevant field recognized by the Senate.
Applicant must fulfill one of the options below:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): The minimum scores of 550 or TOEFL IBT 79
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): The minimum scores of 6.0
ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP): Completion of ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) Level 107 or higher
Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR): The minimum scale of B2
