¿Qué aprenderé?

Are you interested in exploring how culture, media and politics shape our world? Are you curious about what drives innovation and future trends? DCU’s BA in Social Sciences and Cultural Innovation is a unique degree where you will gain in-depth knowledge in three disciplines - culture, media and politics - whilst also developing key competencies to underpin your success in a wide variety of careers.

On this course you will:

  • explore the meaning and power of culture
  • examine the hugely influential role played by media and technology in society
  • and you’ll learn about national and international political systems

Three or four year degree

You can complete the BA in Social Sciences and Cultural Innovation degree in three years, or choose to take an extra year either to study abroad or complete an INTRA placement.

The list below indicates the minimum standards in the English language: Irish Leaving Certificate English: Ordinary Level Grade D3; GCE A-Level English Language: Grade D; IELTS: Composite score of 6.5 or above, with no less than 6.0 in any one component; TOEFL: 237 (computer-based), 580 (paper-based test); TOEFL iBT: Total Score of 92; Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CAP): Overall score of 180 with a minimum of 169 in all components; Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): Overall score of 180 with a minimum of 169 in all components; English Test for Academic and Professional Purposes (ETAPP): C1; Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): 63 (with a minimum of 59 in all components).
