¿Qué aprenderé?

This programme facilitates the study of sports science by focusing on sport provision and practice in modern societies. It provides a sound theoretical background to enrich students’ knowledge base and to enable them to apply that knowledge in their specific sport-related setting.

This programme is designed to provide specialised study in sports science and physical education. Graduates will possess an in-depth understanding of the major areas of sports science and physical education, allowing them either to specialise in and increase their knowledge of physical education practices or pursue research in this area. The programme offers eight areas of investigation: Sports and Exercise Psychology, Exercise Physiology, Sports Biomechanics, Curriculum Policy, Design and Implementation in Sports and Physical Education, Sports Pedagogy, Sports Sociology, Health and Fitness, and Measurement in Sports and Physical Education.

Applicants must satisfy one of the following:

graduated from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor's degree, normally with honors not lower than Second Class; or
graduated from an honors programme of a recognized university with a Bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "B" ; or
completed a course of study in a tertiary educational institution and obtained professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honors degree.

To fulfill the University’s minimum English language requirements for admission to postgraduate programmes, applicants should have:

obtained a degree from a university in Hong Kong or taken a degree programme of which the medium of instruction was English; or

achieved scores in the following English Language tests2 as indicated:

TOEFL: 550 (Paper-based)/79 (Internet-based);
IELTS (Academic): 6.5;
GMAT (Verbal): Band 21; or

obtained a pass grade in other English language requirements equivalent to HKDSE or

obtained a recognized professional qualification, provided that the examination was conducted in English.
