Upon the completion of the Programme, students should be able to:
Educational Measurement and Assessment
Educational Measurement plays a central role in educational assessment, most obviously in high stakes testing and comparative studies of educational achievement and less obviously in locally developed assessment schemes. Sound evidence-based decisions in education, including the use of assessment for learning often rely on thorough understanding of and ability to use the most appropriate quantitative investigative and reporting techniques. Specifically, this Area of Study is designed to provide students with in-depth understanding of quality educational measurement techniques in order that these approaches to assessment can be used appropriately to support learning in Hong Kong schools as well as in educational systems in the region.
