This one-year entry option allows you to explore program areas in the humanities and social sciences, and discover your passions and strengths before choosing a major or double major program.
First-year Classes
Explore your program transfer options by choosing introductory courses in Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology and Sociology.
Enrol in two required courses: Academic Writing and Research, and Critical Thinking.
Choose electives from a wide range of areas including news and film studies, law, business and natural sciences – many of which can lead to a minor.
Program Transfer
You must apply to transfer to one of the 10 programs listed above, or to any of the nine double major programs, by February of your second semester. All of your completed courses will transfer to your new program.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M courses including some program specific requirements. Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration; subject to competition individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:
A minimum grade of 70% or higher will be required in Grade 12 U English/anglais (ENG4U/EAE4U preferred).
Undeclared Arts is an entry option only. By February of your second semester, you must indicate which one of the ten programs you wish to pursue. All program transfers are considered on a competitive basis and are subject to program capacity.
English language requirements: IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL: 92-93 Internet-based, CAEL score of 70 and PTE score of 60, Cambridge English - 180 and above on C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency.
February 1 is the guaranteed consideration date for applications to all programs.
