Applicants must have a 75% overall standing in the last two years, or equivalent, in a four-year Honours Bachelor's degree or equivalent is the minimum requirement for admission to a Master's program. Other English language requirements: Paper-Based TOEFL(PBT): 580; MELAB - Michigan English Language Assessment Battery: 85,80 per section For co-op programs: speaking 3; CAEL - Canadian Academic English Language Assessment: 70, 60 per band, Writing 70,Speaking 70; PTE Academic - Pearson Test of English: 63, Writing 65, Speaking 65; EFAS - English for Academic Success: 75% overall in 400 level with 75% in each of academic, oral, and writing.

Minimum admission requirements
- An honours undergraduate degree or equivalent with at least a 75% average. Normally, the undergraduate degree will be in Geography, but applications are welcomed from superior students regardless of background. However, students must demonstrate that they have the necessary background to pursue graduate work in their field of specialization.

- Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) - 100; writing 26; speaking 26
- IELTS (Academic) - 7.5; writing 7.0; speaking 7.0
- Cambridge English test (C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency) - 191; minimum 185 in each area
- CAEL - 70; 60 per band; 70 writing; 70 speaking
- PTE (Academic) - 68; writing 65; speaking 65
- EFAS - 80% overall in level 400 with at least 75% in writing, oral and academic skills
