Your job might involve IT infrastructure support and service, information systems, network or systems administration.
It’s a career that calls for good analytical and organizational skills. Strong communication skills are also important, because you’ll be the go-to person when people need help resolving network issues.
Computer Networking Technician is an intensive certificate program that will help you launch a career in less than a year. The program is available full time at Saskatchewan Polytechnic Regina campus. You’ll learn the fundamentals of information technology (IT) with an emphasis on a hands-on approach to installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing computer networking systems and equipment.
Over nine months, you’ll study IT specialties, including:

Equipment is provided for onsite lab learning, including Cisco routers and switches, VoIP phones, desktop PCs and small business servers. You’ll have the opportunity to build complex networked computer systems to further your knowledge of working systems.

Computer networking technicians work in computer-related support positions in just about every sector. Graduates are working in network administration, computer programming, hardware, applications and systems analysis and design. TOEFL - Paper-based: Minimum test score of 550 with a minimum TWE of 3.5 and a minimum TSE of 50.
Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTEST): Minimum score of 4.5 in each of listening and reading, a minimum score of 4.0 in speaking, and a minimum score of 4.0 in writing
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL CE and Online): Minimum score of 60 with a minimum score of 50 in each component. (CE and Online accepted).
University of Cambridge Assessment English C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency: Minimum grade of C1
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTEA) - A minimum score of 63 with minimum component scores of 50.
Duolingo English Test: A minimum overall score of 105 on the online Duolingo English Test as the equivalent to the minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5
International Baccalaureate (IB) English A1 or A2: Successful completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, including higher level English with a minimum grade of 4
