¿Qué aprenderé?

Humber's Graphic Design for Print and Web (GDPW) program is for students who want to work in a creative, innovative and dynamic field. You will learn the fundamentals of design theory and communicate design thinking strategies through the use of functional composition, typography, illustration, interactive media and web design. Throughout our program, you will work towards developing a cutting-edge portfolio filled with real-world projects that will help you stand out in the creative field of graphic and web design.

In order to achieve your best, you will learn from the best. Our program offers you access to the latest industry standards in hardware, design applications and instruction. Our labs are equipped with the latest Apple Macintosh workstations, up-to-date Adobe Creative Cloud software, and our course instruction is facilitated by industry-leading working professionals. Over the course of the program, and through supportive mentorship and coaching, you will build connections with industry professionals, alumni and community partners to help prepare you for future career opportunities.

This program is not eligible for Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). It is eligible for Second Career Funding.

Your Career

Upon graduating, you may find opportunities as a junior – intermediate graphic and web designer. GDPW will prepare you with the necessary employment skills for work in creative advertising agencies, design boutiques and studios, multimedia firms, freelance opportunities and more. You can use your newly acquired knowledge and skills in HTML5, CSS and jQuery to create stunning marketing materials, impactful brand identities, engaging editorial and publication designs, and interactive websites that are mobile-ready and SEO compatible - all that meet the needs and demands of small- to large-scale companies.

To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:

Practical work experience or education in a design-related field such as fine arts, digital design, illustration, photography, web design/development, marketing, prepress, etc.

Interest in learning and pursuing a career in multimedia and/or design industry

Computer literacy (Windows or Mac)

Portfolio of four to six design pieces of traditional or digital media (samples may include graphic design, illustration, paintings/sculptures or web design)

Minimum IELTS Scores: Overall 6.0 and No band below 5.5

Minimum TOEFL Scores: 550 for paper-based test OR 80 (20L, 20W, 20S, 20R) for internet-based test

Minimum PTE Score of 53 - 57

Minimum EAP Score: Successful completion of all EAP courses with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 60% in Level 8

Minimum MELAB Score: 76
