The Honors Specialization Bachelor of Science module in Kinesiology focuses closely on the bio-scientific orientation of Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, and Athletic Injuries and Anatomy components of the program.

Progression from year 1 to year 2:

We have 75 spaces for the BSc stream moving form year 1 to year 2. This is a limited enrollment module, meaning that the progression standard may fluctuate from year to year depending on how many students want to progress into the BSc and how good their grades are. Student will have to satisfy 3 requirements. First a minimum 70% average across Kin 1070A, 1080B, Physiology 1021, and their 2 Science credits. Second, a minimum 70% average across a 5.0 course load. Third, no grade less than 60%. Typically over past few years a student with a mid to high 70's cumulative average would successfully progress.

Applicants must complete the full International Baccalaureate Diploma including each of the following to be considered for admission: Completion of the entire Diploma including the Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay; Passes in a minimum of 6 subjects of which 3 must be at the Higher Level; A minimum grade total of 28 including points awarded for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge; No mark less than 4 on any individual course; Prerequisites for your program as specified by Western. Other English Language Requirements accepted: Minimum score required on the TOEFL is 550 on the paper based with a 5 on the TWE, and 83 on the internet-based tests with no score below 20; Pearson Test of English Academic: A minimum overall score of 58 is required with no score less than 56; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): A minimum overall score of 80 is required with no score less than 78; International English Language Testing Service (IELTS): a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0; CanTEST: A minimum overall score of 4.0 is required with no part less than 4.0; CAEL: A minimum overall score of 60 is required with no part less than 60.
