This concentration focusses on skills necessary for success on the path to becoming an Actuary. The Concentration in Actuarial Science is offered through the Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. Students wanting to complete the Concentration will have the option of completing a B.A. or a B.Sc. in Mathematics with Major, Advanced Major, or Honours.The Concentration in Actuarial Science at StFX will put you well on your way to entering the Actuarial field. Actuaries must master financial, mathematical, and economic principles to provide organizations of all types with the confidence needed for future-planning. Actuaries use highly developed analytical skills to mitigate risk and identify opportunities.

English 12 Pre Calculus 12 or Calculus 12 two of Biology 12 Chemistry 12 Physics 12 and one other university preparatory courseStudents who complete the International Baccalaureate IB Diploma with a minimum score of 24 will be considered for admission.Minimum grade requirement for any subject is 3. Students can submit predicted or anticipated results for early fall admission and scholarship purposes.For high school students the minimum admission requirements include an overall average of 70 percent in Grade 12 with no grade below 65 percent in each of the required subjects Admissions to limited enrolment programs is competitive meeting the minimum average does not guarantee admission.Please note students who are currently in grade 12 applying for early admission must have the program requirements in grade 11 and be registered in the program prerequisites in grade 12 to be eligible for an early offer Otherwise offers will be made after receipt of final first term grade 12 transcript.
