¿Qué aprenderé?

This program recognizes the growing importance and the current trends in formal and informal lifelong learning as professional development needs to expand across academic, corporate, non-profit and volunteer sectors.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is a specialization within the Educational Studies program. In this specialization, you will develop both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to recognize systemic, historic and attitudinal barriers that contribute to discrimination and oppression in both workplace learning and classroom settings. Prepare to use problem-based learning and critical reflection to identify issues, evaluate resources and articulate solutions to EDI issues in Canadian education and society, to counter bias and discrimination against under-represented and equity-deserving groups.

Individuals interested in this specialization will apply directly to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC) using application code DEJ.

If you're interested in applying to the comprehensive Educational Studies program, apply via OUAC code DST.

This program can be taken through fully online courses, designed to allow access from a wide range of mobile devices, or through a combination of online Educational Studies courses and in-person electives. Courses make use of video-based lectures, mobile-enabled video conferencing tutorials and a wide array of social media tools, providing a rich and collaborative learning environment.

Note: This program does not qualify a graduate for membership in the Ontario College of Teachers or to teach in Ontario’s elementary and secondary school systems. It does not provide certification for any early childhood education programs. This program is designed to lead solely to a BA in Educational Studies degree.
