The Master of Teaching (Primary) builds preservice teacher knowledge and skills to teach across the curriculum. There is an emphasis on researching teacher practice in numeracy and literacy.

Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).
Specialisation - compulsory: In a relevant discipline area for primary teaching as per the National Program Standards and the Victorian Institute of Teaching. For a primary focus these may include; Science, Mathematics, Arts (Visual Arts/Drama/Music/Dance/Media Studies), Humanities (Geography, History), Languages, Physical Education/Health, English, IT.
Selection criteria
All applicants will complete the CASPer test to support selection into teaching programs. CASPer is a requirement for many of the initial teacher training courses in Victoria. It is a non-cognitive online test designed to assess an applicant's personal and professional attributes. English language requirements
IELTS (Academic) score of 7.5 with no individual band score less than 7.0 and a score of no less than 8.0 in Speaking and Listening.
TOEFL Internet based (iBT): Overall 102 with 24 in Reading, 24 in Listening, 23 in Speaking and 27 in Writing.
Pearson Test of English (Academic) (PTE): Overall score of 73 with no communicative skill score less than 65.
C1 Advanced: 191 with no less than 185 in any component
C2 Proficiency: 191 with no less than 185 in any component
