About this course

This course is your pathway to a Diploma or Bachelor program at La Trobe University Sydney Campus. The Foundation Studies Program is a university preparatory course, which focuses on building the language and study skills required to succeed at university.

Course structure

To obtain your Foundation Studies Program certificate, you must complete and pass at least eight out of nine units. Four of these units are compulsory:

• Academic Communication
• Essential Maths
• Economics
• Accounting

Career outcomes

Successful completion of the Foundation Studies Program can lead to direct entry into diploma or bachelor program at La Trobe University Sydney Campus. The career options upon completion of a bachelor program are extensive.

Students who pass all required subjects are guaranteed an entry into either:

• Diploma of Business
• Diploma of Information Technology

Students who pass all Level 2 subjects and achieve an overall grade of 65 percent - with an overall grade of at least 60 percent in Academic Study Skills 2 - will be eligible for direct entry into the following degrees.

• Bachelor of Accounting
• Bachelor of Business
• Bachelor of International Business
• Bachelor of Information Technology
