In our early childhood education and care course you’ll study:
You will learn how to design and implement educational programs that support developmental outcomes for children from birth to twelve years. Enhance your skills and confidence in classes with experienced and supportive trainers, in practical children’s services simulation rooms and during extensive industry work placement.

Successful completion can provide a pathway to the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Box Hill Institute, Deakin) or the Bachelor of Primary Education (Deakin University)

Course Structure
Completion of 28 units (23 core and 5 elective).
To be assessed as competent in this qualification you are required to undertake between 240 – 590 hours of supervised work placement in a registered education and care service , for example, long day care service, preschool, kindergarten and out of hours school care program.
Evidence provided by a workplace supervisor will contribute to assessment of your ability to work at this level.
CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is currently in a teach out phase and has been superseded by CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care The pre-requisite to this Diploma is the Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113 or CHC30121), so any students wanting to enrol into CHC50121 Diploma Early Childhood Education and Care in July 2022 must have evidence of completion of CHC30113 or CHC30121 Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care for course entry

International students must have completed Australian Year 12 or international equivalent with a pass. Relevant senior employment experience in industry will be considered.
A minimum IELTS overall score of 6.0 (Academic). A minimum TOEFL score of 550 for paper examination; 213 for computer based and 79 for internet based, or approved equivalent.
