¿Qué aprenderé?

There is a strong demand for networking professionals, software and application programmers, ICT business and system analysts and ICT security specialists in Australia.

This qualification will expose students to different roles in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry. Students will develop their skills in animation, basic cloud computing, basic cyber awareness, digital media skills, generalist IT support services, networking, programming, systems and web development.

Existing workers currently employed in the industry may be eligible to complete the program through:

Course Overview

This course is suitable for individuals who wish to develop a broad set of skills in ICT including critical thinking, customer service, a range of technologies, processes and procedures.

In this course, students will learn about:

  • Securely managing personally identifiable information and workplace information
  • Identifying IP, ethics and privacy policies in an ICT environment
  • Introductory programming techniques

QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE AND RULES

To be awarded the ICT30120 Certificate III in Information Technology, the following units of competency must be achieved.

CORE UNITS:

BSBXCS303 Securely manage personally identifiable information and workplace information
BSBXTW301 Work in a team
ICTICT313 Identify IP, ethics and privacy policies in ICT environments
ICTPRG302 Apply introductory programming techniques
ICTSAS305 Provide ICT advice to clients

INTERNSHIP/ ON-THE-JOB WORK PLACEMENTS:

Students are encouraged to seek industry work placement to gain the maximum benefit from the course. There are no formal entry requirements.

English Language Proficiency – must demonstrate minimum language skills.

Other criteria is determined by the Australian Department of Home Affairs (i.e. satisfying Visa requirements)

An English Language proficiency level of one of the following:

  • IELTS band score of 5.5 (academic test version) or;
  • TOEFL PBT score of 530 or;
  • TOEFL CBT score of 197 or;
  • TOEFL IBT overall score 71 ( No band less than 70) or;
  • equivalent internationally recognised exam result in line with Department of Home Affairs.
