A Bachelor of Arts with a major in Public Relations will teach you a range of useful skills, including corporate communications, event handling, crisis management and e-public relations all essential for good reputational management.

Public relations is now an essential part of business life and its practitioners are expected to communicate with a wide range of people, including employees, the media, consumers and external stakeholders. Apart from high-quality written and oral communication, PR professionals need to be adept at event management, marketing, social media and crisis management.

Our major in Public Relations is designed for those who would like to pursue a career in the demanding world of corporate communications or an allied field such as event management, media relations or speechwriting. Available as a second Major as part of your Bachelor of Arts degree, you will explore topics such as business research, public relations writing, issues and crisis management, event management and electronic public relations.

While many graduates will find employment in the private sector, the skills you attain during this program are also in high demand by government, politicians and the non-for-profit sector.

Applicants with recent Secondary Education must have a HSC Performance Band Results with a Band 4 in English, a minimum average of Bands 4s and an overall minimum average HSC mark of 75% in HSC Category A Courses (or Interstate equivalent).

Para estudiantes internacionales

Applicants must meet High school qualifications (or equivalent) to apply for undergraduate program. Academic minimum entry requirements for international applicants vary from country to country.

IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 overall, with no individual band score lower than 6.0; CAE/CPE - 176 overall, with no individual band score lower than 169; PTE Academic - 58 overall, with no individual band score lower than 50; TOEFL (iBT) - 84 overall, with no score lower than 21 in writing and no other band score lower than 17.
