English

Develop your understanding of the English language and explore and analyse the riches of literature across the ages. You will gain a high level of communication and reasoning skills while growing your passion for reading and writing.

Study a wide range of literary periods and genres with an English degree that offers a comprehensive source of historical and cultural understanding. You will study the talents of Shakespeare, diverse forms of cinema, children’s literature and the nature of, and methods used to analyse, literature.

Popular combinations for a second major include History or Multimedia Journalism and Writing. You can also choose two minors that will enhance your studies.

Students are required to complete academic qualification of Australia grade 12 or equivalent. English Language Requirements: Academic IELTS: 6.0 (no component lower than 6.0); TOEFL (paper based): 550 (plus minimum Test of Written English score of 4.5); TOEFL (internet-based): 79 (minimum writing score of 19); Pearson (PTE Academic): 57; Occupational English Test (OET): Completion and an overall pass with minimum grades A or B only in each of the four components.
