This course was developed by TAFE SA to respond to the workforce development needs of the civil and structural consulting industry in South Australia. Designed in collaboration with industry, the course prepares you to become a site engineer or project manager. In this role, your work may involve project programming, quality control, managing construction teams, liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers and communications with project stakeholders.
Course Notes
International students who do not have Year 12, the Maths subject requirement at Year 12 level or the overseas equivalent, will be required to complete the Certificate III in Engineering-Technical to satisfy the entry for this Associate Degree. The Certificate III in Engineering - Technical will provide a foundation of Maths to prepare the student for success in the Associate Degree.
As part of the Associate Degree program, TAFE SA will provide work experience and/or industry-based project opportunities. While optional, these activities, will give you first-hand experience of the workplace, allowing you to test your skills and make valuable industry contacts.
This qualification has provisional accreditation by Engineers Australia. Graduates of this course are eligible for migration skills assessment by Engineers Australia. The occupational outcome of this assessment is in the Engineering Associate (Draftsperson) category. This course is offered in blended study mode. This means that you learn in a mixture of classroom and online environments. On campus learning will be scheduled but online learning can provide more flexibility. Lecturer support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
This Associate Degree will be taught 70% at Tonsley Campus and 30% at Regency Campus, and some classes may be held in the evening. More details will be provided upon commencement into the Associate Degree.
